Well hello there! Welcome to the first of (and an introduction to) Well hello there! Welcome to the first of (and an introduction to) All Mana of Games’ new offerings to the internet: articles!
So, who and what is All Mana of Games, I hear you ask? It’s actually quite simple.
At its core, All Mana of Games (AMoG) is a social space for like-minded tabletop gaming enthusiasts to come together to discuss their hobbies, passions and interests. From miniature wargaming to trading card games, AMoG caters for all and encourages a community spirit in delving into tabletop games.
Alongside our social night (that you can find out more about on our Social Night page), AMoG also provides event hire, these beautifully written articles and, very soon, online video content!
We also aim to one day be able to foot the bill and open a Local Game Store (LGS) of our very own; a venue that combines retail offerings, event space, casual playspace, organised play, dining experiences and is, fundamentally, a keystone venue that provides a friendly, open space for people of all kinds to come together and enjoy tabletop games!
Now with more articulation
Right, now we’ve covered the absolute basics, let’s move on to what you can expect from these articles and posts that you can find right here on the website.
We want to give back to our lovely community, give an online space to those of us that want to publicly espouse our love of our chosen games and to pass on some knowledge to those taking their first dive into one of the countless games that make up the tabletop gaming hobby. With that said, articles here will cover a variety of topics and subjects so let’s just give a very brief outline of a few of the perennial articles that will be periodically posted.
First up is Brewed to Perfection, a dive into an AMoG member’s favourite Magic the Gathering deck and why it’s their go-to deck when approaching the table. Through these decklists and evaluations, you’ll see first hand just how the cards synergise (or don’t), discuss why certain cards are included opposed to other similar offerings and hopefully gain some insight into deck building for different formats and power levels.
Secondly, there’s Palette Pals, where members Ian and Mike will explore miniature painting and learn, showcase and teach techniques for making your mighty miniatures come to life… or at least not look like you’ve dipped them in Dulux paint and called it quits.
Following on from that, we’ve got Rank and File. In this series we’ll be looking at members’ wargaming army lists and exploring the rationale behind the units chosen. From fantasy to WW2, no wargame is safe from our army inspectors making sure the troops are fit for service and pass inspection with flying colours! Look sharp marine, there’s Inquisitors abound!
Finally, rounding out these evergreen periodicals is Tall Tales of the Tabletop, a humorous look at the hilarity that arises during tabletop roleplaying game sessions. From invisible pixies causing trouble, to the bizarre decisions characters make under pressure, no table is safe as we hunt down our favourite funny stories from Dungeons and Dragons, Pathfinder, World of Darkness and more!
Onwards, to the Finale!
And with that, we come to the end of our first posting. We hope you’ll join us on this adventure and check out the articles as they’re published. We’ll be eagerly watching the comments section to see what you think!
If you’d like to submit an idea for an article or have a decklist or army list to explain, don’t hesitate to drop us an email at Allmanaofgamesuk@gmail.com
So for now, see you at the table!
